A communication entitled “ Emissions from tourism and its impact on air quality: the ARTUR project” was presented by Alexandra Monteiro at the 38th International Technical Meeting on Air Pollution Modelling and its Application (ITM 2021), held from 18 to 22 October in Barcelona, Spain.

The ARTUR project team requested for a project extension of 5 months, that has been accepted by the FCT. The project will now end on 25 December 2021.

Alexandra Monteiro and her co-authors published an article entitled "ARTUR - o turismo e a qualidade do ar juntos no mesmo projeto". This article was published at the "Dossier Qualidade do Ar", in the Portuguese Journal Indústria e Ambiente.

Sara Silva presented today her master thesis, entitled "Tourism and Air Quality: an econometric study for European countries", supervised by Mara Madaleno and Margarita Robaina, Professors at the Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism.

A communication entitled “Tourism and air quality in Portugal: cointegration and causality tests” was presented by Maria João Carneiro and Celeste Eusébio at the International Conference on Tourism (ICOT) 2019, held from 26 to 29 June in Braga, Portugal.

The ARTUR Principal Investigator Alexandra Monteiro wrote an opinion piece for WATTSON about the research project.
